You are Valuable

We baptized a young man Sunday afternoon who first came to us as a guest of the young lady he is dating. He grew up in the Pentecostal church. She asked if we could study. We did, and it has been a privilege.

Another one of our men brought a guest with him on Sunday, and she has agreed to study. She did not grow up in church, but she is very interested.

At a birthday dinner for one of our teens the other night, we were waited on by a bright young lady who is studying biochemistry at one of our universities. She said she is working on a project to help find new cures for Alzheimer’s (I know that several of us are praying for that)! She is Buddhist. We will work to build a relationship with her and who knows what God might do.

Why do I share these experiences? Just a reminder to all of us that our work involves so much more than preparation and delivery.

There are people who God places in our path who need Him. I believe that you are valuable to your family. You are valuable to the Church. You are valuable to your community. You are valuable to the world.

As refreshing as that is, please don’t forget that of supreme importance is your value to God. God is using you, dear brother. He is using you to proclaim His Truth to His Church. He is using you to love your wife & children and to lead them. He is using you to influence your community. He is using you to reach people with the Good News.

When you are struggling and feel a little uncertain, please don’t forget this.  You are precious. You are needed. You are loved. You are valuable!
