It’s a Whole New World
In one sense, everything has changed. Many people around the world have been told to shelter in place, and before it’s over, we may all be given this mandate.
A whole lot of people are working from home, or being furloughed, or losing their jobs. Our children can’t go to school. Our churches can’t meet in the way we are accustomed to gathering. We can’t shake hands, hug one another, or even get too close to one another.
It seems that all of the hand sanitizer and paper products around the world are gone. We can’t go inside restaurants and sit down for a meal.
We can’t visit people in hospitals, and we can’t see many people in Senior living facilities.
In another sense, nothing has changed.
God still expects His men to stand in the gap, to speak His life-changing, life-giving Word to others, and to do the best we can to meet the needs of those around us.
Our church families still need to hear a message from God delivered by their preacher, whether it’s online, through our writings/posts, and by how we respond to this crisis. They need to hear a calm voice in the middle of chaos. They need to see a kind heart even when we are under stress. They need to know that we are “there” for them. They need to know that we are still in the Word and that we are always on our knees.
They need to know that we trust God and that our faith is in Him. They need to know that we love them and that we are going to help them walk through this challenging season.
Dear brothers, this will never change. God and His people need you, perhaps more now than ever before.
