Changed Lives

Changed Lives

A few weeks ago, while preaching in a Gospel meeting, it was a joy to run into a couple we helped with their wedding thirty years ago. This wonderful couple reminded me that not only had I preached their marriage ceremony, but I had also studied the Bible with him and baptized him. In addition, he said some kind words about the preaching and commented that it had helped him during a difficult time in his life when he needed to make some changes.

I do not share that memory with you to boast, but only to remind us that when we preach the Word of God to people and minister to them, the result may be changed lives. That, of course, as you know, is the goal of all preaching and ministry.

When we are working for the Lord, we often wonder if what we are doing makes any difference. Yet, the reality is that it can make a huge difference, not just in this life but in eternity.

Very few, if any, other jobs in the world have this potential. Every single time you preach the Good News, someone’s life is changed. Each time you lean in and minister to someone, it has the potential to change lives. Just let that set in for a moment.

Yes, there are problems, stresses, concerns, and worries, but we are involved in life-changing work. If you are struggling today, please remember that God used you to help someone change their life yesterday. There might not have been any visible response, and you may not even know about it for years or at all in this life. However, the truth is that you helped someone change their life for good and for God.

Praise Him for His choice of using wounded men like us to be involved in the most significant work in the world. We hope you have a great week. Now, go out there and change some lives, and remember God is with you, and He loves you. By the way, so do we. So if we can help you this week, please reach out to us.
