On Track!
One of the read features that has developed over the years have been the various “Topical Tracks”. There is an overall theme, this years is “Crying Out to God: Prayer and Praise in the Psalms” and inside that theme there are various tracks on that theme. But the topical tracks are fabulous for they allow a person to learn about what they want or need to know more about. It is very rich. Here are some of the tracks you’d find:
-Contemporary Concerns
-Exegesis/Interpretation
-Family Ministry/Counseling
-Hard Sayings
-Leadership/Elders
-Local Ministry
-Missions
-Preaching in the New Testament
-Preaching in the Old Testament
-Women’s Classes
I’ve spoken on a couple of these tracks and always enjoy that opportunity. Here’s the advantage, some of these areas interest me, some don’t at all - but it seems there is something for everyone. About 16 years ago they added something pretty neat - The Youth Workers’ Workshop. It was the first of the workshops that ran concurrent with the program. It has grown and been a great blessing to many! Chuck Morris leads that effort. This year they have added a new concurrent workshop, the Bible School Workshop. Andrew Phillips has led the effort to push this forward. Today I heard Jonathan Jones, who preaches in the same town with me and is a good friend in the Bible School Workshop! Wow, he did his homework and was very helpful.
So that’s how the tracks work. Something for every interest. I just love it all!!!
By the way - there are CD’s available of every lecture AND you can listen to several parts of the program online.
