Promo Monday...

I want to tell you about some good stuff that some friends of mine are involved in and have asked me to help them get word out about. I hope you'll take the time to consider each of them: Our webmaestro, MIchael Whitworth, is an excellent writer. I've recently shared with many of you my impressions of his book, EPIC.  He has big plans for the future and a lot of writing projects he has shared with us.  AND right now he is in the middle of a neat thing. Everyone who signs up on his blog (free) will be entered into a drawing on March 2 and the winner will receive a free copy of EVERY book he published through Start2Finish FOR LIFE!  It's quick and easy and you'll all benefit from his work but one of you will win big. Sign up here!

Next up is also a web thing.  Rusty Hills is a good young man who is blessing a lot of lives in many ways.  He has begun here at the first of the year an effort to help people in their devotional lives.  He posts a brief devotional around the life of Christ on Facebook every day. It's called "5 Minutes with God." It's worth your time to visit and "LIKE" this page.  HERE.

I'm just back from an excellent board retreat with Heritage Christian University. The influence and impact of this school is tremendous and growing significantly.  One of our excellent professors is professional counselor Rosemary Snodgrass. She teaches a class on the Masters level on Conflict. On April 13 (that's a Saturday which should open it up for more elders and leaders) she will conduct a morning on "Conflict Resolution for Church Leaders."  The fee is $25 registering by April 8, $40 thereafter.

On Monday, February 25th Andrew Phillips has put together a very intriguing Preaching Workshop.  It starts at 9 and ends that evening. It includes a strong lineup of excellent presenters.  They describe it as "an event especially designed for ministers and teachers to dig deep in scripture and reflect on how to communicate God's message today."  To learn more click HERE

On the heals of the FHU Lectures falls the lectures of Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies (formerly ETSPM). It's February 24-27 and I think you'll enjoy their "line-up."

The 2013 Faulkner Lectureship is March 4-7 and looks very exciting this year.  I don't get to go every year but this year I will be there.  And I've enjoyed every time I've been, but this year looks like the best yet!  They are having a Church Administers Program on the 7th and this year they are having a very neat program for youth guys called "Youth Summit." Check it all out.

This will be the third year for The ReCharge Conference in Monterey  California. The dates at March 13-16. This is a favorite of mine. I get to be with fellow geek guys - Caleb O'Hara and Michael Hite. I get to hear one of my very favorite Bible expositors: Denny Petrillo.  And I get to be in one of the most beautiful corners of the world.  If you can go, you would cheat yourself by not. They were just wanting to provide something strong for the west coast preachers but have built something that is just fabulous!  Find out more HERE.

Revival is the annual Youth Minister's retreat. It will be back at Graymere this year after a year away.  The dates are March 7-9 and it is good every year.  Check out their Facebook page to learn more. Search of Revival Youth Minister's Retreat.

Heritage is building something good with their Alumni Days.  This year's theme is "Preaching By The Numbers" it is free to alumni and their spouses.  If you aren't one and are interested, check it out here.

I like reporting about good things happening in our great brotherhood.  Take advantage of what you can and be a blessing!
