YOUTH & FAMILY LIFE MINISTER- Waterford, MI - Position available as of February 2013 Job Description. The Youth & Family Life Minister position is a full-time opportunity for a Christian man seeking a Church of Christ ministry position with opportunity to grow in scope as experience is gained. This position has a primary focus on grades 6-12 but will also include the coordination of activities from kindergarten through young adult.
Responsibilities. The Youth & Family Life Minister will be expected to work approximately 40 hours per week with members of the youth group, grades six through twelve. The Youth & Family Life Minister should spend time each week working on and/or planning the following activities:
Facilitate the weekly youth devotional (to occur at times other than during regularly scheduled congregational services)
Teach Sunday and Wednesday night Bible class (as needed)
Organize and facilitate regularly planned recreational activities
Organize and facilitate service activities (e.g., God’s Helping Hands, nursing home,
Pontiac Rescue Mission, etc.)
Meet with Elders on a regular basis to discuss the youth & family ministry program
Mentor youth and attend activities in which our youth are involved, as time permits (e.g., sporting events, plays, musicals, etc.)
Work within the budget (as provided by the Elders)
Plan and publish an activities calendar
Attend Youth Rallies or Youth Mission Trips
Assist with the Lads to Leaders program activities
Qualifications. It is preferred that the candidate be married and have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably relating to ministry. He should also have a strong interest in working with youth and families.
Compensation and Benefits. The salary/benefits package will be discussed with the Elders as part of the interview process and will be based on level of experience and spiritual maturity.

Job Description. The youth minister intern position provides an opportunity for a young man going into full-time Church of Christ ministry to gain experience and implement skills necessary in the field.

In addition, the youth minister intern will be responsible for coordinating and attending all of the primary youth activities, both spiritual and recreational, and recruiting chaperones and helpers when necessary.
Compensation and Benefits. This is a paid position with the potential of having living expenses offset by staying in a church member’s home. Travel arrangements to our site may also be included, with local travel expenses reimbursed. Details will be discussed with the Elders as part of the interview process.
