How to us this site....

Welcome to a new venture for The Jenkins Institute.  Often elders are thrust into the role without any real training and frequently we get requests from elders, preachers and congregations for information on where to go for more information. Let us begin by saying clearly: We are for elders. Pro elders. We want to encourage. We want to provide. We want to help you in the training of future elders. We want to offer perspective.  Our experiences have always been very good.  We believe in God’s Plan, therefore we believe in you. From Willard Clark and Lem Moore to Herman King we have always respected elders.

But often we have found that there are limited resources and that elders do not know where to go to get solid, useful information. We are launching a Leadership arm of The Jenkins Institute. It is called “God’s Leaders: Leading with Love”. Here we plan on keeping you updated on events that might be helpful to you, useful articles on leadership, practical insights from other leaders, methods and materials that we have found helpful or that you might share with us, links to other leadership sites, and podcasts and webinars about leadership.

Just above this article you will find six tabs they are larger areas that we have found elders often have to contend with and would like more information on.  Click on any of them if you want more information about that area.  Anytime a new article is posted it will appear on this “front page” but also can be found under the tad it fits under.

Above those six tabs are three additional buttons: HOME will bring you back to this page, THE JENKINS INSTITUTE will take you to our main site and the scrolling banner announcing our upcoming events and to the Scoops Blog where we list churches looking for ministers, HOPE & EXPECTATION will take you to our blog page for our online e-zing.  There you will find our writings as well as numerous articles from our Featured Articles. We have a theme each month and writers on that theme.

If you know of other elders from other congregations who would benefit from these please send us their information. We will keep you informed as we add content to the site.

Finally, if you write and want to contribute or as you find helpful articles we might share or links that are helpful to you – sent them to us at TheJenkinsInstitute@gmail.com

We are in this with you. Let us know how we can make this site most helpful.

In His Service;

Jeff & Dale Jenkins
