Favorite Scoop (picture anyway)

The picture this week is my favorite so far for obvious reasons :).  Without further wait here are this week's scoops: MS/AR: James Malone, part-time associate minister of the North Brandon church of Christ in Brandon, MS, has resigned to take a full time pulpit position with the Washington Ave. church in Jonesboro, AR.  North Brandon is looking for a full-time associate minister to work with the church. The associate minister will work mainly with young families and the young people.  He will do some preaching on a regular basis, work in a local jail ministry, teach Bible classes, and do visitation. They are looking for a married man with children still at home, and some experience in ministry.  Formal training in preaching or youth ministry is a plus. Their attendance runs about 140 and they have 3 elders, 6 deacons, and a preacher.  Interested? Send a letter of interest and a resume to Elders, North Brandon Church of Christ, P.O. Box 251, Brandon, MS 39043.  Or e-mail: nbrandoncofc@bellsouth.net.  Find out more at northbrandonchurchofchrist.org

KY:  This scoop compliments of Darrel Blankenship. Rick Kelly has resigned in Prestonsburg KY.  The church there was planted by Darrel's family in 1966 under the oversight of the leadership of the Highland Park congregation in Muscle Shoals, AL.  They have a new building and average around 170 in attendance. On the Big Sandy River. The town has a population of about 4000.  Darrel says they have great potential for growth.

TN: From Shane Merritt. Jim Creech reports that he is serving as the minister of the Vultee congregation.  The church there has not ceased to meet.  They have spent the past few months refurbishing their fellowship hall to turn it into an auditorium.  They will be selling their current building and will move into their smaller auditorium.  Their first Sunday in the new building will be first Sunday in 2014.

KY: PEWS available - Portland Christian School in Louisville, KY (portlandchristian.org) has about 150 church pews that they are currently storing.  They have to have them out of storage by November 1.  They are free to anyone who can secure pickup.
