Dear God, Our Creator, the One who sustains us, We Praise Your Name and we thank You for being our Father. We need You every day, but we especially need You tomorrow as we stand before Your people.
We need Your presence as we gather. We need Your strength, Your might, Your power as we proclaim Your Word. We need Your grace, Your mercy, and Your patience in our weakness. We need Your boundless love to envelop us, as we seek to share Your love with those who sometimes seem unlovable to us. We need Your help and Your guidance as we do our best to call to mind Your Word that we have studied to preach. We need your forgiveness for anything that isn’t right in our hearts and our lives. We need You to help us remember that we will stand as a dying man speaking to dying men and women. We need You to remind us of the gravity of what we are doing. Holy Father, we need You.
Thank You, Dear Father, for loving us when we are unlovable and for the promise that You will not leave us alone to do Your Work. In the Name of our Savior, we pray, Amen.
