Lift Him Up. A prayer for those who preach on Mother's Day
Compassionate, Caring, Creator, Our God,
Thank You for this day. As we go about it our message for tomorrow will be on our heart. For many of us tomorrow presents a challenge. There has become this expectation that we will talk about mom’s, but we know there will be those in our audience who were not blessed with godly moms, there will be those still feeling the sting of loosing a mom rather recently, there will be those with unresolved issues with their mom’s, there will be moms who feel like failures and moms who are still in the midst of the struggle wondering what to do next. And there will be our own emotions, for we are clay. Some of us have had challenging weeks, may those not pervade, but perhaps even aid us in presenting our message tomorrow. But Father, while You have said that moms and dads are to be honored, may it be our prime mission to honor You, to lift up Your Son, to point people to that which is Perfect. May Your Word be honored. Bless this Your men and give them peace and joy and bless those who hear them. Thank You for understanding us and caring for us, for each who will stand and attempt to present Your love and Your Word to those who listen.
In Jesus Name,
AMEN
