A Prayer for the Hearts of Preachers Everywhere

Dear Loving Father,

We pray that on Sunday Your preachers will have hearts that are full: full of gratitude for the awesome opportunity we have to herald the Good News. We pray that our hearts will be broken: Broken because of our own weaknesses, our own frailties, and because of the sins of many who will hear Your Word. We pray that our hearts will be joyful: Joyful because we have some understanding that the message we proclaim is a life-changing Word. We pray that our hearts will be full: Full of love for those who come ready to worship You and full of Jesus. We pray that our hearts will be ready: Ready to speak boldly for You. We pray that our hearts will be on fire: On fire with passion for the task that is before us. We pray that our hearts will be humble: Humble due to the understanding that every good accomplished is Your doing, not ours. We pray that our hearts will be one: One with Your Word, one with our Savior, and one with You.
