A Prayer for Certainty

Dear Loving Father,

We approach Your throne with a lot of uncertainty surrounding us. When we proclaim Your Word on Sunday, we will be speaking to people who are uncertain about their past. Many who gather are uncertain about the present. Their uncertainty leads to fear about their health, their jobs, their finances, their family, their nation, their community, and their world. Some will question their salvation. As well, we know that a lot of people are uncertain about their future. They wonder if they will be saved when they stand before You.

Dear God, our prayer for Your men who preach is that we can have assurance. We can have assurance in our heart and in our soul. We can be certain that You have redeemed us because of the precious blood of Your Son. We can be certain that You will not leave us alone in the present. We can be that the Word we proclaim is faithful, true, and righteous altogether. We have assurance that it will not return unto You void. Help us never forget that we can rest with knowledge that we have eternal life. Father, even when uncertainty surrounds us, we praise You for being the God of Assurance.

In Jesus Name we Pray, Amen.
