The Standard

Father,

Thank You for setting a standard for us to strive for. You’ve put something for us to reach for in our daily lives. And thank You for giving us an example in Christ. We are thankful that our failures make us aware of Your grace in OUR lives. Help us in our teaching and preaching to realize that we are undeserving recipients of that Divine goodness. Help us to want others to receive that grace as we did. Thank You that our own shortcomings help us in relating to others, empathizing with others, and even pleading with others. Help us to glory in our weaknesses only in that they highlight Your power. Thank You for loving us and saving us while we were yet sinners and thank You for the blood of Jesus that continues to cleanse us. Thank You. May each of these men present Your Words today and every day in light of this.
