A Prayer for Rest

Father:

Our Lord promised rest for the weary and heavy-burdened. Few on this globe carry more burdens than these Your ministering servants. Few have more of a weariness of responsibility and obligations that seem never ending as these Your men. Thank You, Father that you both taught and emulated rest. Whether it’s solitude, time to refocus, recreation, time away from it all; whether is physical labor, or play; whether it’s reading, or writing, or a second work to rest their mind somewhere else. Whatever it be, as long as it does not deter them or cause them to sin, bless these activities and bless their rest. Thank You for it. May they never forget it is from You, and so they not neglect even this, and rejoice in the glory of this gift!
