Dear Father in Heaven, in a world torn apart because of war, political divisiveness, injustice, hatred, and arrogance, we pray that the men who stand in front of Your people on Sunday will model Your kindness. Our people watch the news, read the headlines, and sometimes get pulled into the fray. They are starving for something different. They are longing for a better plan. They desperately need to see the kindness of our great God. Dear God, even when preaching challenging texts and dealing with complex topics, we pray that you will help those of us who preach do so with kindness in our hearts, in our words, and in our presentations. Thank You, Father, for being kind to us when we do not deserve it. May preachers everywhere share this kindness with a world that can be so dark. Thank you for the kindness and the light of our loving Savior.
In the Name of the One who Came to Show us Your Kindness we Pray, Amen.
