NC: Scoop to Don Viar. The South Fork Church of Christ in Winston-Salem, NC has started the search for a new Pulpit Minister. This is a stable congregation with a heart for missions and community service. South Fork has approximately 300 members, 7 elders and 4 full time ministers. They are looking for someone with about 10 years of ministry experience with a significant portion in the pulpit of a congregation of at least 200 members. AL: Steve Gober from Hodges, AL also pulling of the elusive self-scoop: Steve has resigned from the Hodges congregation after 28 years and will be working as Regional Representative for Advancement (fundraiser) for World Bible School. IN: Loving congregation of about 60 members on Columbia City, IN is looking for an experienced preacher/evangelist. VA: The Southside Church of Christ is Winchester, VA is looking for a pulpit minister. Southside is an established congregation in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia 75 miles from Washington DC. They average around 110-120 in attendance. They advertise as a loving family oriented congregation and have 3 elders and 5 deacons. There is a very active senior and teen group as well as a growing elementary age group. They have a Hispanic ministry and are involved in both local and foreign missions. They use a life group ministry to bring this body closer together. FL: University City Church of Christ is seeking a Youth & Family Minister with a four year college degree and youth or family ministry experience to build an effective ministry that will reach out to, minister to, and spiritually equip the families of middle and high school students in our North Central Florida community. The Youth & Family Minister will be responsible for all of the Youth Ministry activities, oversee and coordinate the curriculum for students grades 6th through 12th toward one common goal of glorifying God together and bringing more young people to know His love. The minister will plan and coordinate dynamic activities that will bring about cohesiveness and evangelism opportunities for the student group, as well as lead domestic mission trips for the older teenagers. The minister will be expected to think strategically about the growth of middle and senior high school groups both in numbers and spiritual depth, while growing relationships with students and parents, as well as equipping the adult volunteers within the Youth Ministry. KY: The Holly Hill Church of Christ, in Frankfort, KY, has hired Jonathan Germany to be their Associate Minister. Jonathan began working with Holly Hill on July 1st.
AL: John Brown has begun his new work helping the Nauvoo congregation.
CA: Victor Valley in California is looking for an associate minister. The current pulpit minister lives out of the area and is only in town for Sunday worship and some other occasions. So, the associate would be the main "on site" minister. The associate minister would preach sometimes but mostly be responsible for other things: Classes, young adults, working with youth and other "on site" minister duties. The current preacher will continue to commute for a couple of more years. So, they are looking for an associate minister that could roll into that position. Sunday attendance averages about 250. Their youth group is in transition as “many have graduated and the numbers are lower than in the past.: The youth group has been very active going to youth rallies and the Tahoe Family Encampment. They have a summer intern and the new roll is open immediately. Victor Valley is a very diverse congregation: hispanic, black and white. The population in our marked is close to 500,000. TN: The Commerce Church of Christ in Watertown, TN is looking for a part time associate. They have about 30 in attendance on Sunday morning. Gynath Ford preaches for that service. TN: Jason Pierce has stepped down as the pulpit minister for the Parsons Church of Christ in Parsons, Tennessee. He and his family are planning to move Fiji in January 2016 to do full-time mission work, where he will be working as an instructor in the Bear Valley Bible Institute: Oceania (a new extension program for the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver).
