We'll start with some exciting news from Heritage Christian:
AL/TN: Heritage Christian University has named Dr. Kirk Brothers as their new president. Kirk has been an associate professor in the Bible department at Freed-Hardeman. This is another home-run hire by one of our Christian Colleges as they have named an outstanding preacher to be their new chief administrator. They follow in the recent lines of Freed-Hardeman and Harding in naming great gospel preachers as the Chief Executives.
TN: Jefferson Avenue in Cookeville has hired Evan Burns to be their new associate minister starting January 1. He was at Wood Avenue, Florence.
OH: Rome Church in Proctorville is accepting resumes for a full-time pulpit minister. They are a congregation of 210-220 with 3 elders and 9 deacons. They also have a family life minister and a preschool. The church is located in the southern part of Ohio, across from Huntington, WV. They are seeking a family man with experience as a preacher. TN: Mike Webb resigned as the preacher the Double Springs near Cookeville last Sunday.
OK: Quartz Mountain Christian Camp in Lone Wolfe has an open week for the dates of June 3-8. They are in the southeastern part of Oklahoma and are able to host camps of up to almost 400. Our board is filled with members of the church of Christ and are striving each year to create grounds for spiritual growth. GA: The Oak Hill church in Rome, GA has hired recent Harding graduate Trenton Osborne to be their new Youth Minister.
MS/TN: Russell Smith will be leaving the youth role at West Main in Tupelo (http://westmainchurch.org/us/) to become the pulpit minister at Culleoka church in Columbia, TN. He will also be teaching High School Bible at Columbia Academy.
FL: University City in Gainesville, Florida, (home of the University of Florida and Santa Fe College) is seeking a full-time evangelist to join our ministry team. “The candidate’s strength will be in one-on- one evangelism and teaching others how to reach the lost. His ministry will be preaching and teaching with a passion for evangelism and community outreach. Past experience and proven success are important. We are a congregation of 300-plus and utilize a Team Ministry concept. Preaching duties are shared with our three current ministers and our church family is led by six shepherds. KS/TN: Robert Ridgeway has accepted the minister position at Elgin Church of Christ in Elgin, TN. He will be leaving the Westside Church of Christ in Kansas City, KS. TN/AL: Justin Smith has accepted the Youth and Family Minister position at Rainbow in Gadsden, AL. He will be leaving the interim work at Crosswinds near Jackson and as a recruiter at Freed-Hardeman.
