TJI@TheJenkinsInstitute.comIt’s been an especially difficult couple of weeks for a number of our brothers. Vance Hutton’s brother, David was killed last week in an truck accident in Alabama. Vance preaches in Double Springs, AL. Steve Baggett’s 38 year old son, Matt, was killed in a wreck last Thursday.   Steve preaches at Walnut Street in Dickson, TN.  Bill Watkins had a heart attack last week. He will have open heart surgery today (Tuesday). Bill preaches at Crieve Hall in Nashville, TN. I know you will pray for each of these families.

Our dear friend Kirk Brothers will officially begin his presidency of Heritage Christian University in Florence, AL on June 4.  I am excited about what all God will do through him with the school and its good people. Please take a moment and pray for Kirk in this exciting new time and role. He has prepared himself well and should be a blessing in every good way.

Ireland: Scott and Rebecca Shanahan moved to Galway Ireland back in January, to work with the very tiny church there. As soon as they moved immigration laws changed, and now it is nearly impossible for American missionaries to live here. They sadly have to leave in early August. Now they are looking for a U.K. citizen or EU citizen who wants to do full-time mission work, to go there to work with the church. It would also be possible for an American to live here if they have a grandparent who was born in Ireland and can prove it, and want to obtain citizenship. You can have both U.S. and Irish citizenship at the same time. An American would also be eligible to live here if they work for a company that could relocate them here. Please email scottshanahan@hotmail.com if you have questions or think you can help.

TN: A note from David Sain:  “After the privilege of preaching and teaching more than 140 times last year, my life has changed drastically. The day after Thanksgiving, in 2017, I went to the ER at Williamson Medical Center, in Franklin, TN.  I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, and my heart was in A-Fib, and I had a large blood clot in my heart, which had to be dissolved slowly, over a two-week period, to prevent a stroke. By God’s grace, I plan to continue to preach. However, with ongoing health problems, it is wise that I preach less frequently. So, I am adjusting my preaching schedule.  • I will continue to preach, once a month, at Fairview, in Pulaski, TN, on Sunday morning only. • I will continue to teach, once a month, in the School of Biblical Emphasis, in Athens, AL. • I will continue to accept invitations to preach, occasionally, on Sunday or Wednesday. • I will continue to schedule Gospel meetings, but not as often as I have in former years.”
