AL: Shiloh near Florence has hired McKinley Pate to be their new preacher. He is leaving the Mercedes Drive congregation in Vance. It looks like their attendance runs about 75-100 and they have two elders. Learn more about them on their website: https://mdchurchofchrist.wordpress.com/.  

TN: The Peytonsville church is seeking a part-time occupational pulpit minister to preach twice on Sundays and to lead adult classes on Sunday morning and Wednesday night. “Ideally, the minister will have a degree from a conservative, brotherhood-related education institution such as Freed-Hardeman, Faulkner or Harding, or a certificate from a brotherhood preaching school, but this is not an absolute requirement. Peytonsville is a tight-knit congregation of about 30 Christians in a rural part of southern Williamson County, an area which will not be rural much longer!” They have two elders. The congregation is about 135 years old, the current building was constructed in the 1950’s and is located just yards from the original one-room clapboard building constructed in the late 1800’s. The auditorium seats 200 with 8 classrooms and a fellowship hall that comfortably seats 150 for dinners and events. The building is located less than a mile from the Peytonsville-Trinity Road exit on Interstate 840, the south bypass around Nashville.  Contact Norman Bobo, normanbobo1@gmail.com.

AL: The church at Hamilton Crossroads between Montgomery and Dothan is looking for a new preacher. I was blessed by these good brethren to be their preacher back in 1988. They have helped a lot of young men through the years. CA: The Palomar congregation (Palomar Church of Christ, 3345 Linda Vista Drive, San Marcos, CA 92078) has about 60 members. They are looking for a preacher. They “would prefer a 40 +/- age, Bible degree plus, outgoing and friendly, self motivated in developing a strong evangelism program, wife and family who are good examples of the faith and are as dedicated as he is, he must be familiar with what is going on in our country currently and is not timid in preaching the truth and making application. MD: The Suitland Road Church of Christ is looking for a preacher. They are in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. “The ideal candidate should be energetic with a minimum of 5 years’ preaching experience in the Church of Christ. He must have strong faith, be doctrinally sound and have a commitment to the call of serving God, the local congregation and community. He should possess excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. We prefer a candidate with a wife and children who faithfully attend church services.” They have a little less than 100 in attendance. They have a very nice building and property and about 60 members with four elders. They have a nice preacher’s home and are able to support a full-time preacher with a competitive salary. FL: Kenny Backhaus has accepted the pulpit position at Orange in Eustis. He will start August 4. The elders are Concord Street in Orlando are evaluating whether to have a youth minister or youth and family minister. They will open up the position at some point in the near future.  

OH: The South Logan Church in Logan, in south central Ohio is in need of a full time pulpit preacher. They have about 45 members and do not have elders. Starting salary is around $30,000+, depending on experience. We provide a 3 bdrm house with all utilities paid, plus a monthly allocation to help cover health insurance. GA: The Piedmont Road church outside of Atlanta is looking for an Associate Minister. He will not preach a lot and will focus on “education first and foremost, youth direction involvement, and member involvement.” Here is some of what they are looking for: “Goal: To help build the church through an exciting Bible school program. Minimum Qualifications : 4 year Ministry experience, a family who is supportive and involved in the church, Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Bible and/or Ministry from an accredited Church of Christ affiliated University or School of Preaching. The Minister needs to be spiritually mature, energetic and passionate about sharing God's Word with people. Responsibilities and Duties: • Coordinate the Bible School Program. • Present curriculum for all ages to elders for approval. • Coordinate curriculum material orders. • Find teachers to teach classes. • Develop teacher training program. • Participate in teaching Bible classes three quarters of the year on either Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings. • Assist with teacher appreciation banquet. • Encourage faithfulness in Christians to worship services, Bible classes, and encourage participation in church activities. • Visit members in the hospital, nursing homes, shut-ins and other members that are sick. • Assist families in times of bereavement. • Fill-in when local preacher is away in meetings, lectures, or vacation (approximately 7-8 Sundays/ year) • Conduct Wednesday night devotionals and announcements biweekly. • Follow-up with visitors each week by calls, letters or electronic communications. Ask visitors if they would like a personal Bible study. • Follow-up with members that have missed two consecutive Sundays and provide feedback to the elders. • Assist in building enthusiasm/interest with all church members (especially weak or discouraged members). • Be actively involved in regular church activities. • Meet biweekly with elders. • Meet monthly with church office staff. • Work to convert non-Christian spouses and accountable children of members. • Work with missionaries that we support and participate in local and foreign mission trips. • Perform professionally and efficiently other duties and assignments as assigned. TN: The Rome church near Lebanon is looking for a full-time preacher. The previous preacher was there for 24 years. They would like a man with some experience with young people and would prefer a married man. They would provide the opportunity for continued education while working there. They are within a short driving distance to Tennessee Bible College, Nashville School of Preaching, and Mid Tennessee School of Preaching. They have about 80 in number “with room to grow, but will be competitive in pay with congregations larger than us.” They do not have elders. A completed questionnaire is required.
