As ever, Scoops are just info. We are not responsible for what you do with them. It’s the Yellow Pages, the Want Ads. We have neither time nor the manpower to visit or interview each congregation that we post info about. Thanks for reading, thanks for understanding, thanks for your patience, AND most of all, thanks for your participation, without it we’d have no info to share. KY: The church in Henderson is looking for a new youth minister. They are a church of about 250 members with David Salisbury as their preacher. There is a very complete description of the role HERE.

AL: Cherokee near Florence is looking for a new preacher. The previous preacher,  Chris Coil is moving to be closer to family. Contact: Douglas Hargett 256-810-0081. 

TN: Center Chapel Church is seeking a full-time pulpit minister. They are a congregation of 225-250 members in growing Mt. Juliet. FL: The Concord Street church in Orlando is searching for a full time youth minister with at least two years of experience. Concord Street has around 450 member and approximately 50 students between 6-12th grade.  They would prefer a married or engaged man whose wife (future wife) is willing to support the work. AL: Maud near Cherokee, is looking for a preacher. I do not have a website or contact name but here is the number I found, 256 360-2662.

TN: The Lobelville church is looking for a preacher.

NC: The Marion church is seeking a full time gospel preacher. They would like a dynamic man who will be involved in their community. Marion is about 30 miles east of Asheville. They are a congregation of approximately 50 and wish to grow. They do not have elders. “It is preferred that applicants have preaching experience utilizing the King James Version. The ideal applicant is knowledgeable and mature in the Word and  is a steadfast defender of all Biblical Truths.” If you apply you need to provide: 1. Letter of interest  2. Resume  3. Video or audio copies of sermons (two sermons) 4. AL: Dennis Jones is the new Preacher at the Shoals church of Christ in the Florence area.

VA: Dale Ridge Church is looking for a minister. He is expected to “collaborate, plan, and lead in evangelism and teaching for members and those seeking and being brought to a knowledge of the Word of God.” They ask for applicants who fulfill the following:

  • A passion for the lost and a desire to share the gospel. Must be able to teach Biblical truths, principals and concepts in an organized and understandable manner.

  • A desire and capability to conduct personal Bible Studies

  • A desire to represent the Church Family at community forums such as College Community Days, and orientation sessions at the local YMCA.

  • Minister’s family desires to be actively engaged in the Dale Ridge family of believers.

  • Minimum of 5 years previous full-time ministry and Bible teaching, with experience in the full range of preaching, teaching, evangelism, congregational development and ministry involving personal Bible studies, application for teacher development, and mentoring of new Christians.

  • 4-year undergraduate degree in Bible, Ministry, Christian Education or a comparable field of study. Graduates of a School of Preaching will have an equivalent 4-year undergraduate degree or greater.

  • Public speaking experience with a capability to apply Bible truths when utilizing teaching tools (e.g. PowerPoint, word pictures, gatekeeping and handouts) to facilitate learning and understanding.

  • A desire to prepare well developed classroom outlines of Bible studies to facilitate the Minister’s teaching objectives leading to the understanding of scripture.

  • Ability to motivate and lead in the planning and coordination of bulletin articles and interface with the Church Secretary to create an environment of synergy and collective effort to communicate current activities and events.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize ongoing weekly ministry efforts when illnesses, funerals, and other events must be handled within the Church family simultaneously.

  • Ability to communicate with various age groups in personal and group settings, with individuals of diverse educational backgrounds and experiences.

  • Ability to listen patiently.

  • Ability to stimulate and coordinate uplifting, Bible based and meaningful worship periods.

  • Ability to work with Elders, Deacons and Ministry leaders in joint and collective efforts for the Lord’s work in the Roanoke Valley and beyond.

GA: The church in Quitman is looking for a full time minister. They are a church of about 90-110 members. They do not have a youth minister so the preacher will be expected to work some in that area. Salary and any other considerations will be discussed. “Salary level has been researched and will be at least up to current standards for our size congregation.” The do have elders. They have “a busy group of middle aged parents that are involved with their schools and children and have just done a remodel and two additions to the facility in the past 4 years.” Quitman is a small town close to Valdosta and Thomasville. Through the years many from Quitman have attended Georgia Christian School. Requirements: some experience, married, ages from middle 20's to 50.  Contact Paul Copeland paul.copeland@yahoo.com
