We are conducting a major minister’s salary survey. Nearly 800 have taken the survey. We still need 111 Youth Minister/Workers for that survey to reach statistical confidence level. OK, let’s crank it up. As ever, Scoops are the Yellow Pages, we are not recommending these churches, just reporting the news as best we can. Vet it all on your own, and share what you know if you will. Let’s help each other out.

AL/TN: This week’s lead self-scoop to Eddie Boggess. He is the new minister at Woodbury.  This means Cedar Grove in Andalusia will be open. We will have more details on CG later. 

OK/GA: Nathan Diller is moving from Broken Bow, OK to Columbus to work with the Rose Hill Church. The Broken Bow Church of Christ in OK is searching for a full-time minister. They average about 90-100 in attendance and do not have elders right now but hope to in the near future. CA: The Yucaipa Church of Christ in southern California is looking for a Community Evangelist. They are a church of about 100 people. Here is how they describe the role: “We need someone who is knowledgeable, outgoing, personable, and who easily interacts with others. We need an evangelists who will get up Monday through Friday and read their Bible in the local coffee shops. This is typically an 8-5 job. We want to get Bible studies started anywhere they can be found. NM: The church in Deming is looking for a preacher. The role includes a home with 3 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. The house is on the same block as the church building. About 15K people live in Deming and the church has about fifty attendees. They want to grow both spiritually as well as numerically. They encourage the men in the congregation to sometimes deliver lessons and/or teach classes. “Qualifications: Must have a maturing relationship in Christ. Graduate of Christian College or preacher school, although extensive experience may be a substitute. Must be able to preach and/or teach, clearly and logically, rightly handling the word of God. Must be a person that can work productively with minimal supervision, while having a passion for and the ability to follow through with all goals set before him. Must have the ability to communicate well, while keeping families of the church informed and involved. Must be able to assist in organizing and leading special events (VBS, Annual meetings, etc.). Strong believer in personal evangelism. Desired Attributes: One who is always eager to seek and save the lost. TN: The Westvue church In Lewisburg has hired Bobby Wayne Lee as their new Youth Minister. He’ll be leaving Florence church in Murfreesboro. 

TN. The Gilroy church in Antioch (suburb of Nashville) averages 90-100 primarily older members is looking for a full-time minister. They don’t have elders or a youth minister. Drew Suttles, the current preacher accepted the position at the Quitman congregation and is moving there to be closer to family, he is leaving on good terms.Congregation is loving, hard working, and financially supportive. Send resumes to GLSOLEJR@bellsouth.net.

AL/TN: Matthew Balentine is moving to 9th Avenue in Haleyville to be their new preacher. He is leaving the Main Street church in Kingston. More to come later on that opening.

GA: The Oak Hill congregation in Covington is looking for a full-time minister. They average 90 and want to keep growing. They “have big plans centered around spiritual and numerical growth and we need the right man to help us achieve these plans.” If you are interested in learning more about Oak Grove go to www.oakhillcofc.org. TN: The River Road church is actively seeking “our next Servant-minded Minister who will help this family increase in all aspects of our individual Christian Lives.” They are located in the rapidly expanding western side of Nashville. IL: The church in Sterling is searching for a “scripturally sound full time preacher to assist in growing our congregation spiritually and in numbers. MS: Jonah Dawes has begun working with the young people at Goodman Oaks in Southhaven, MS.

TN: The Pomona church in Dickson about three miles off I-40 is looking for a preacher. Attendance around 100. They have about half dozen teenagers and in a few years will have a larger youth group. They “are making a steady climb.” Contact David Banes 931 209-4622 or banesl@bellsouth.net. They want someone young early to mid thirties to mid forties but are very open minded regarding age.

GA: The Grace Chapel church in Cummings is looking for a new connections minister. The current involvement/administrative minister will become their executive minister. Their attendance is approaching 600 and they anticipate adding 6 elders in November. The connection minister will be somewhat similar to an involvement minister and our salary range will be between $55K and $65K. To learn more click HERE.
