It’s time for Scoops. But first a couple of other quick things:

- Friend of TJI Andy Burns has created “Your Ministry Fit Seminar” in order to guide elderships and search committees to more effectively and precisely navigate searching and hiring a new minister. To learn more contact Andy at ministrytalks@gmail.com

- The Hardin County church is a merger of two churches in KY. They are in Radcliff and are in the process of hiring their first full-time preacher. They are looking for some short-term support to help that happen. Short-term as in months, not years. So if your congregation might be able to help them contact them at Jerry Carter, 270 766-3736.

NC: The Pike Road church in Pantego is looking for a preacher.  They have between 90-100 members, 2 elders and 5 deacons. A house is available 3 bedroom, 2 bath and office with carport. Send resume to one of the elders: G.R. Fletcher fletchers@rsnet.org 252 935-5338.

SC/TN: Andy Brewster has accepted the pulpit work at Jefferson Avenue in Cookeville. He will be leaving the Charlotte Avenue congregation in  Rock Hill, SC. You can find out more about CA at http://charlotteavechurchofchrist.org/wp/.

OK/TX: Nathan Adams will begin his new work at the the pulpit minister at the Whitehouse Church of Christ in Texas, October 4th.   He is leaving the Miami (OK) congregation that has about 100 members. They are not posting yet but, I think they are looking for a young preacher, you might contact Nathan if you want more info gospelpreacher4@yahoo.com.

IN: The Washington Avenue Church of Christ is a congregation of about 350 attending members with 4 elders, 14 deacons, and 2 ministers. They are in Evansville on the southern edge of Indiana. They are “a loving and dynamic congregation with an emphasis on Evangelism, Youth/Families, and Education.” The eldership is looking to add a new, full time minister to complement the current team of ministers. His primary focus will be Youth and Family along with a secondary focus of a Congregational Fellowship ministry. MS: The Goodman Oaks Church of Christ in Southaven is seeking a full-time youth minister. The congregation has around 500 members and a youth group of 40-45 teens (7th-12th). They are served by six elders, a pulpit minister, and a children’s minister. They are “praying for an experienced youth minister with a deep knowledge of the Bible who can be a source of encouragement to teenagers.” A married man is preferred. Interested? TN: Brian Cook has started preaching for the Unity church in McMinnville. 

FL: Michael Whitworth has accepted the work at the Burlington Santa Fe church of Christ in Branford.

AL/TN: Landon Olson has accepted the Youth and Family Minister role at the Central church in Cleveland. Therefore the Vernon Church of Christ is looking for an associate/youth minister. The position to be filled sometime around the first of the year. Send resume to: mail@vernonchurchofchrist.org..

SC: The Boiling Springs church seeks to hire an associate minister with an emphasis on youth ministry. They are a congregation with approximately 200 members, with four elders, five deacons, and a pulpit minister serving the congregation. The associate minister will “focus on building and maintaining a well-rounded, spiritual, educational, and social program with particular focus on teaching, training, and developing our young people in Christian principles and behavior through the knowledge of God’s Word. There will be other ministerial duties apart from working with the youth, including visitation, evangelism, and occasional preaching.” They want a man equipped for youth ministry by formal education at a brotherhood school or through proven experience and prefer a Bible degree. Minimum two years Biblical education OR three years youth minister experience required. He will have responsibility for coordinating attendance at off-site youth events/rallies (3-5 per year) and two bible camps (Palmetto Bible Camp and Horizons at Freed Hardeman), and being present to oversee youth at those events. He will have responsibility for coordinating an area-wide youth rally hosted by the congregation each Fall.
