Scooping In An Odd Time

Running The Scoop Blog in a pandemic is certainly a chore. I have three pretty major scoops that either I can’t get ahold of anyone to post them or who have made moves but haven’t informed the membership yet. I’m not complaining, just stating a fact (well, I may be complaining a little :)). There is also the obvious challenge of hiring a minister for any role during this time. I’ve written a little about that for church leaders HERE

AL: The Lynn congregation near Jasper has hired Todd Tittle.

AL: Tidwell's Chapel has hired Darrell Pate to be their new preacher.

GA: The Thomaston Road church (www.trcoc.church) in Macon is looking for a full-time pulpit minister. Their average attendance is 225. The current minister has retired after 26 years. The ideal candidate will “have a degree in ministry or a minimum of 5 years experience as a pulpit minister, a good speaker and Bible teacher who relates well with all ages.” Send resume, with internet link to audio/video sermons to: tim.fletcher58@gmail.com or: Thomaston Road Church of Christ, Preacher Search Committee, 5859 Thomaston Rd Macon GA 31220.

KS: The Salina church is looking for a Youth and Family Evangelist. Here is what they say: “We are looking for a man who not only loves the Word of God, but also sound in New Testament doctrine and biblical in his teaching. Married is preferred but not required, children preferred but not required. We would like for the candidate to have a college education, but it does not have to be in Bible; however, the candidate must be able to demonstrate a well-rounded knowledge of the scriptures and be able to teach. The ideal candidate would be one who has had experience in youth ministry and outreach.” Send questions or resume to office@salinachurchofchrist.com.

LA/OK: Chase Green has accepted the pulpit minister position in Marietta, Oklahoma, which means that the Beacon church in West Monroe is looking. If interested please visit Beacon’s website at beaconcofc.com for more information. Please send cover letters, resumes and recent sermon recordings to beaconoftruthkcxb@gmail.com.
