A Rare Sunday Scoop, but a big one, at least to some of us
We posted about 15 Scoops 8 days ago and today we have 15 new ones. So, hold on tight. The first one is a big one.
TN: This morning I announced that I will be leaving the work at Spring Meadows after 15 years. I do not know of a better place anywhere. The brethren have been so very good to us and the work has grown so much. I will be working alone side Jeff in the work we will try to do in encouraging God’s Servants and helping local churches be healthier. This is a step of faith for both of us, but we are very excited about the future. This of course means starting in January we’ll have a lot more freedom with our schedule, so, let us know if you need us. TN: I could not be happier for my friend James Hayes and the Liberty Hill church. They announced today that James will begin working with them as their new preacher. These two will be a mutual blessing. Of course that means that the Pleasant View church will have an opening.
AL: The White’s Chapel church in Hubbertville has announced that they are hiring Scott Baggett to be the new preacher there.
TX: This week’s first “self-scoop” goes to Larry Tittle would announced that he will be assuming the preaching minister position for the Parkview Church of Christ in Sherman. It is a multi-ethnic family currently with about 140 in attendance.
TN: Josh Peirce is leaving his role of Youth Minister at East Main in Murfreesboro. They are looking for a Family and Youth Minister. “The elders of East Main continue to believe that the families play a pivotal role in the development of young people so the person chosen for this position will be working hand in hand with parents eager to assist with the various activities.” The man who is will join a team of other ministers. WV: Scoop to Lee Snow. The Central church in Clarksville is looking for a younger preacher who would be interested in outreach and growth. They are located in an area that has a lot of hurting and need. The congregation is getting older and has have stalled in growth for a few years and need to act on that. TX: The North Ridge Church of Christ in Mount Pleasant is looking for a new youth minister. The man selected will teach youth classes 7-12, organize and facilitate youth activities, encourage involvement and cultivate relationships within the youth group, lead and prepare for camps and retreats, and work with children's coordinator on mutual events. North Ridge is in NE Texas located between Dallas and Texarkana. They have a post Covid attendance of about 200 and recently hired a pulpit minister . AL: Scoop to David Courington. The church at Sylvan Springs has hired Caleb Aldridge for the preacher’s job. This leaves the position at Emerald Beach church in Panama City Beach open for a new minister. The y are a very loving congregation. They do not have an eldership. They have around 40 core members and we have a lot of visitors because they are so close to the beach. In the wintertime, they have some snowbirds who come and join in worship. MS: Berean Children's Home in Brookhaven is filling the position of Director for the home. This person must have a degree in Social Work, Counseling, Administration, Psychology or related field of study with experience working with youth and child care personnel and programs. This person will be responsible for communicating information with the MDCPS concerning placements. They will also oversee the day to day operation of the Home. TN: The family of Central Church of Christ in Sparta, TN (1.5 hours east of Nashville) wants to hire a full-time youth and family minister who primarily oversees the spiritual equipping of youth & families in the 6th-12th grade range. They have a regular 130 post-Covid attendance average. The candidate will work with four elders, a secretary, and a full time preacher who invested 6 years in youth ministry. MI: The Metro church in Sterling Heights, a top ranked, growing, safe to live city, is seeking a younger man (30-45 preferred) to fill their pulpit minister position. The man we seek should have a degree from an established Bible university and have no less than five-seven years of pulpit experience. They are a well-established, growing, a cappella congregation of some 60-75 families encompassing all age groups with a post Covid attendance of about 150, with very stable finances. They have two elders, seven deacons, a youth minister and a full-time secretary. They want a man whose “preaching style is positive, personable, and engaging based on sound biblical doctrine. Content must be scripturally based and free from doctrinal direction based on politics, society or opinion. He will develop sermons and lessons which are consistent with mission statement and direction from eldership. The right candidate is someone they pray will be with them for a number of years and they will compensate fairly and help in the purchase of a home. TN: The Lafayette Church of Christ is looking for a full time youth minister. The former YM has moved into the pulpit. In addition to a full time pulpit minister they also have a part time associate minister. The church at Lafayette has been returning to pre COVID numbers and there is a significant amount of excitement in the congregation as they grow!
