Have A Holly, Jolly Christmas...
Maybe it’s just me, but do you ever feel like while everyone else if having a Holly, Jolly Christmas you find yourself stressed to the max with everything going on around you? There’s the quickening of the pulse brought about by conflict from different backgrounds in the congregation - some who think any reference even to the fact that Christ was born to others who seem to want to sing Happy Birthday, Jesus. And you are left in the middle to deal with the conflict and fallout. Things seem to go south that are and were beyond your control or influence. Drama seems to increase in the hearts of rushed people. There are the parties you are expected to be at and be on at. There’s increased expenses and only about a third of us get any end of year bonus. Preacher’s rarely are afforded the salary to allow enough margin to do what you’d want. Then there’s your own travel and tiredness as a result. Minister’s do not often live near parents or in-laws. Mix it all together and its all...well...exhausting...anything but what you'd see on a gold foil stamped Christmas card.
As Christmas dawns and the New Year beckons - The Jenkins brothers want to wish you happiness, peace and peace during the next few days. We want you to know we love you. We want you to know that we understand you and your struggles. We want you to know that we are thankful for you and what you endure and how you serve. We want you to know that we are here for you.
Breath in joy, peace, and know that you are loved by HIM who LOVED us with HIS great LOVE.
