Good days do happen

Some of us are not discouraged, frustrated, angry, ready to throw in the towel - we are thankful, feel blessed and excited about the future.  As true as it is that there are those Monday’s most any church could hire you - there is that Monday when everything clicked on Sunday. The words from the Word fell in place, the crowd was good, the comments were kind, the complaints were few and the Christ was held high.  Your study, your persistence, your patience, your long-suffering with difficult people - all paid off.  On those days you can’t wait till next Sunday - you are exhausted but energized, preached out but perked up, spent but soaring!  You feel blessed to do what you do and to be paid for it.

If that was not your day yesterday, I pray it will be soon. I’m sure for some reading this it’s been a long time since you felt that way - we pray even stronger for you.  If that was your Sunday I pray you’ll have a string of them and that you will rest in the blessings of the Lord.  In the mean time, avoid bitterness and jealousy and strive to rejoice with those who are enjoying "the sweet spot" for they (and we all) have been where you are and hope you'll not have to be "there" long)).

For all of us I pray those days will come more often than the days you wish you could throw in the towel.  May your week be blessed in the knowledge that if you preacher God’s Word yesterday - even if the audience didn’t - God did…smile.
