A Prayer for a new day

Father:

With all the ranting, raving, revenge, and rage of the year gone by we are all thankful for a new leaf. Thank You that You set in order newness. New times and seasons, new days and years, new life and new beginnings. Father, today we ask that You bless those who preach and teach Your Word as we begin to write on this new slate. Help them to not be passive when it comes to speaking Your truth in love, when it comes to caring for the disheartened when it comes to going to battle over souls, when it comes to loving all. Help them to not crumble over circumstances beyond their control, to trust when they are tempted to fret, to go forward when it advances Your cause, and to behave as Your people when it is easy to behave like the world. Help them to dream positively, to act biblically, to proceed with energy, zeal, and enthusiasm! And, Father, may they have peace in their soul, confidence in their faith, and hope in their voice. Please bless this new beginning.
