Struggles
Father,
Bless these who preach Your Word tomorrow. Many of us will struggle after we preach. We’ll struggle with things we left out that we had planned to say. We’ll struggle with things that will come to us after we finish that we wish we’d thought to have included. We’ll wonder if we were too harsh. We’ll wonder if we were not clear enough. We’ll be concerned about specific individuals and their reaction to the Truths presented. We’ll wonder how we could have illustrated better. We’ll wonder if we illustrated too much. We’ll wonder how to connect with those who are older, younger, different than we are. We’ll wonder if we got too personal and we’ll wonder if we got personal enough. And while all of those things may make us feel less, or inadequate, and while we may grade our lesson low or be even angry with ourselves for something worded poorly that we cannot pull back in, help each of us who preach and teach to know that You love us even in our weaknesses. Help us to remember that You do not judge us as harshly as we judge ourselves, but that you remember that we are dust. Help us to do our best but to remember You never require more than that. Help us to remember that it is Your Word that is effective and that it and you will do more with our little than we could ever do and that Your Word will ever accomplish the purpose for which it went forward. And, thank You for future chances and for brethren who love us anyway.
In Jesus Name,
AMEN
