Each time we stand to preach Your Word we are faced with the choice of employing Your Wisdom or using our own wisdom. Father, just as Solomon long ago prayed for understanding so that he could rule Your people well, we pray for wisdom so that we can teach Your children well. Dear God, You have promised us that if we ask for Your wisdom believing, You will give it to us. May every word that Your preachers speak on Sunday soak our words in Your wisdom. We know in our heads that our wisdom isn’t good enough. May all of us who preach, trust that Your wisdom is what we need and what those who hear us need most. In the Name of our Wise King Jesus, We Pray, Amen.
