When we consider the task you have commissioned us for, our hearts are humbled. As humans, we tend to think we can accomplish whatever we set our mind to do. We think there’s nothing we can’t fix. We believe we can wow any audience.
Dear God, please forgive us for this arrogant attitude. May we never forget that we are clay pots, human vessels that you have assigned a task. May we remember that we can accomplish nothing worthwhile, without Your blessing. Help us to remember that this is Your work and that You will bless our portion of this work as we submit ourselves completely to Your Will.
May all of Your men who preach on Sunday speak in such a way and live in such a way that Your Mighty Name will be glorified. In the Name of the One who makes our efforts possible and fruitful, we pray, Amen.
