Thanksgiving Scoops

On this Thanksgiving Eve we want you to know we are thankful for each of our ministry brothers. We are thankful that you let us be a part of your work with God and we are thankful for the scoops you share with your brothers. So many find “their” place through what YOU share. Thanks. TN: Brown's Chapel in Dickson County (Bon Aqua) is in need of a full time preacher. They are a church of about 90 members with elders. If interested contact Mike Welch at 931 623-1708 or mwelch1708@gmail.com.

AL: The Central church in Tuscaloosa is looking for a youth minister. Preferred qualifications are” married, a degree in Bible, Youth Ministry, or a related field, a love for youth, a good report with youth and adults, a good Bible teacher, and the ability to obtain an Alabama CDL. Central is a congregation of 300-350 with a youth group of 25-30 from grades 6-12. Central’s youth participate in Leadership Training for Christ, attend Exposure Youth Camp in Huntsville, and patriciate in other events throughout the year. Five elders serve Central, there are three ministers on staff (Youth, Campus, and Preaching), and two of the twelve deacons work directly with the Youth Minister. TX: Our first self-scoop this week goes to J.J. Hendrix. He will be the Family Involvement Minister at the Northwest church in Fort Worth. That will leave the North Jefferson church in Mt. Pleasant open. North Jefferson has not started the process of hiring yet.  

KY: Chad Ezelle lets us know that Scott Wilson will be the Family Life Minister in Milan.  He was the YM at Southside in Hopkinsville, KY. So that role is now open. 

AL: The Creekwood church in Mobile is seeking a youth minister. Creekwood is a congregation of approximately 300 members.  The youth group consists of about 50 students in grades 6-12. They have had two youth ministers over the last 20 years.  The congregation currently has five elders and a ministry program that involves 13 deacons. FL: Tim Spivy let’s us know that the High Springs church is accepting resumes for a summer youth minister intern. The YM will be responsible for organizing and facilitating activities for their youth and should include devotionals, Bible camp (Florida Bible Camp), helping with VBS, and other fellowship and fun-time activities. He will work with the minister and under the oversight of the elders. All interested candidates should send resumes to Tim at timfromhs@gmail.com.

TN: Self-scoop number three this time goes to Doug Tooley. He will be moving to Nashville and  working with the Rivergate Church. That means that the Wartburg congregation in Morgan County TN will be looking for a preacher. If you are interested send resumes to wartburgchurchofchrist@gmail.com.

KY: The Owenton congregation is seeking a full-time evangelist. This is part of Evangelize Kentucky, a work coordinated by Lehman Avenue in Bowling Green. The current part-time evangelist will continue to work as needed to make for a smooth transition. Local area preachers meet monthly for collaboration and fellowship. The building is modern, has a 150-seat auditorium, classrooms, a multipurpose room, kitchen, sound system, internet and wireless connections. There is 2 bedroom/2 bath home. OK/TX: We’re full of self-scoops this time. Here’s number four: Alan Lay has accepted the position of Pulpit Minister at the Northside in Bonham, TX.  

TN: Due to an illness in the family of their current preacher, the Doyle Church is in need of a preacher. The Doyle congregation is located between Cookeville and McMinnville. They run about 40 in attendance and have a house available with three bed rooms and an office. Currently the congregation does not have elders. TN: The Tusculum Church of Christ is currently looking for a Youth Minister. Tusculum is just south of Nashville and is an 800 member congregation.
