We’re working on two lists right now and you are invited to help. In short the first is if your congregation takes a summer mission trip and is looking for somewhere to go in 2019 or if you need a group to come do a campaign for the area where you are, send us details. TX: The Eastside church Beeville has hired Adrian Samson to be their new preacher.
TX/GA: Lance Leavens has begun preaching at the Champions church in Houston (congrats on the name :))! That means that Piedmont Road in Atlanta is looking for an associate/education minister. They’d like a married man with children. Check out the job description HERE.
AL: Sherrod Avenue in Florence is looking for a full time high school youth minister. Sherrod is a congregation of around 400 with 10 elders. The primary job responsibilities of the Sherrod Avenue Youth Minister are to “teach Bible based lessons and to develop and direct a variety of activities that promote discipleship and spiritual growth of all members of the Sherrod Avenue Youth Group.” They are looking for someone with at least 3-5 years experience in youth ministry. LA: The Enterprise Boulevard church in Lake Charles is looking for a man to lead their youth ministry program. Experience in youth ministry is preferred. They are a growing congregation of about 300 with about 30 in grades 6 -12. He will be expected to teach class, plan and execute youth activities, and work as a team with elders, deacons, and congregation. KY: The Mt. Gilead congregation in Tompkinsville is looking for a new preacher. Tim McHenry is leaving at over 13 years. They have had two preachers in the last 30 years and would like another long term minister. The church there was established in 1857 and they have 240 members and elders and deacons. TN: The Smith Street church in South Fulton is looking for a full time pulpit minister. They are wanting a man who will help them continue to grow and will be “enthusiastic and self-motivated in his works of being an encourager, a teacher of the Bible, visit the sick and shut ins of our congregation and be a witness of God’s grace in the community.” South Fulton is on the TN/KY state-line. They have about 80 in regular attendance. TN: Our second self-scoop to Darrel Blankenship. After 3 months of retirement from preaching he is getting back in :). He is the new preacher for the Green Hill congregation in Mount Juliet. He will begin on January 6. They have about 100 members
AL: The Mars Hill church in Florence is looking for a part-time song leader/youth minister. Salary is commensurate with education and experience in the $25,000 to $30,000 range. “Duties include: Leading congregational singing Sundays, Wednesdays, and for special services. Working with parents and other members to plan and conduct activities in support of a growing—spiritually and numerically—youth group. Teaching youth classes as needed. Occasional preaching.” They would like a married man with school-age children. There will be two weeks annual paid vacation. MO: “The family ministry position is an opportunity for a couple (preferably with children) to serve our families and youth in coordinating family and youth activities. The family minister will assist in establishing the education program for the congregation; conduct a yearly teacher’s workshop; plan and organize Vacation Bible School; and be involved in all aspects of local evangelism with emphasis on families and youth. He will be expected to teach a Bible Class on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening and be available to preach on an as needed basis. If he can lead singing this would be an added benefit. The family minister will also perform other duties as determined and directed by the Eldership. The family minister position is not an 8 to 5 position, but a career choice and way of life.
