VA: The elders of the Church of Christ in Purcellville (purcellvillecoc.org) are seeking “a sound, mature, full- or part-time evangelist to work with the congregation.” Purcellville is about an hour’s drive northwest of Washington, D.C., and has great opportunities for evangelistic work. NV: The Pahrump church is looking for a full time preacher. They have approximately 20-30 members with some transient members who are present part of the year. Pahrump is located approximately 60 miles west of Las Vegas Nevada and has a population of approximately 40,000 people. There is a 3 bedroom/2 bath house available with full utilities. AR: The Prairie Grove church is looking for a preacher. This small town church is located in the beautiful area of Northwest Arkansas, in the midst of the Ozark Mountains. Prairie Grove is a growing community. MS: The Oxford Church of Christ is seeking a full-time youth minister. Here are some of their goals in the program:

The successful candidate will assess the needs of OCOC youth and families, focusing on 7th through 12th grades. He will implement processes and programs to meet youth program goals and will communicate with church members on plans and activities, reevaluating as needed. The OCOC Youth Ministry has strong parent support, and two deacons are included in the ministry team. The youth minister will be expected to play a supporting role in the OCOC small group ministry. Salary and benefits are commensurate with education and experience. GA:  This week’s self-scoop to Tony Clay. He accepted the work at Fairview Road. This leaves an opening at the Phenix City church near Columbus. They are a congregation of about 40 members with two elders. Tony and his family are leaving on good terms and he speaks very highly of the congregation. They are “seeking a married man who will faithfully proclaim God's truth without compromising. A degree in Bible from a sound brotherhood school or School of Preaching is preferred. TN: Self-scoop to Eddie Braddy. He is leaving the work at Wytheville on July 28. He will be the new minister at the Estill Springs church.

AZ: The High Country Church of Christ is seeking a full-time minister. We are a congregation of approximately 65-100 members, depending on the season. They have a very active youth, an invested group of women, and we’re currently being led by the dedicated men of our congregation. They maintain a camp located on our property, which hosts a Bible camp once a year. The youth participates in Leadership Training for Christ (LTC) in the Southwest Region. They support a mission work in Guyana. Show Low has a population of about 12,000.

“Basic Expectations of a Potential New Minister

• Sound scriptural philosophy and understanding.

• Ability to preach practical and engaging sermons in a clearly understood voice.

• Ability to facilitate classes and small groups in a way that encourages participation.

• Evangelize in the community and to inspire and equip members to do the same.

• Experience using computer aids (i.e. PowerPoint, Paperless Hymnal). Our congregation currently utilizes the “Proclaim” program.

• Various other duties such as directing our Bible camp and/or assisting with it, working with our youth when possible, and maintaining office hours throughout the week.

• Able to answer phone calls even when not in the office. 

• Willingness to support our mission work.

• Visitation of members regularly.

• Visiting the sick.

• Scheduling weekly and/or monthly Bible studies.

Desired Qualifications 

• Bachelors in Bible/Ministry from an accredited Christian/Church of Christ school or program

• A minimum of 5 years of minister experience.

• A supportive Christian wife/family who is involved in his ministry and church activities.

Compensation

• Benefits: minister’s medical account

• Salary: $800/wk for a yearly average of $41,500

• 1 Week vacation

• Continuing education/lectureships/retreats to be negotiated.
